After six hours of sometimes contradictory lively debate, the Senate has ratified late in the evening, the Prime Minister-designate, Dr. Garry Conille
“…the report of the special commission responsible for analyzing the record of Prime Minister-designate Gary Conille, report in which the commission has requested to the Assembly to ratify the choice of Prime Minister-designate Garry Conille is put to the vote, those in favor, raise your hand please, do the counting for us, thank you, for 17, those who are against, raise your hand please, 3 against, those who abstain, 9 abstentions. The choice of Dr. Garry Conille was ratified tonight by the Senate of the Republic.”
The 30 Senators was present. The G16 has contributed largely to the victory of Dr. Conille, 15 of the 16 Senators have given a positive vote [Moïse Jean-Charles dissented and voted against], the Senator Youri Latortue and the Senator Edwin Zenny have also voted for, thus giving a majority vote for the ratification of the Prime Minister.
Among the nine abstentions, six are from the Alternative Platform, which had given instructions because of the many doubts raised in the record of Dr. Conille.
